One of a kind: eHospital Dompe launches mChannelling service with Mobitel, Sri Lanka.

eHospital Dompe launches mChannelling service with Mobitel. The first of its kind in Sri Lanka!

A pioneering project is going on in the Divisional Hospital of Dompe. Located in the Gampaha district of the Western Province, DH Dompe has over the years been tranformed to eHospital Dompe thanks to the pioneering work of ICTA, Sri Lanka and Dr Sampath Kulathilake, Medical Officer in Charge of this project.

In what appears to be another feather in their cap, eHospital has partnered with Mobitel to create the country’s 1st government mobile channelling service. The service was formally started in a ceremony with Hon. Ranjith Siyambalapitiya, Minister of IT as chief guest.

This free service works like this:

  1. The patient makes the booking by dialling the Hotline 0711 370 370.
  2. Patient receives a confirmation SMS.
  3. Patient shows the SMS to the counter and is served via a web interface!

Sounds simple right? Wrong. eHospital Dompe has been a project going on with a lot of toil for many a year. This is another step in what seems to be a long journey for them.

This venture was made possibe by a joint effort of Presidential Secretariat , ICTA, Ministry of Health (Western Province), RDHS Gampaha & Mobitel.
